I bought this for a friend who is dealing with exactly the situation described in this book, and I read it too. It was both sad and relieving to learn that his ex's confusing behavior is in fact following a pattern set by many others before her—sad that so many people harm their children this way, but relieving because at least we can learn from the experiences of others. One thing I found interesting and encouraging is that a lot of the book is not about how to deal with the ex directly, but about how to strengthen your bond with your child and help him or her develop a strong core of kindness, empathy, independence, and critical thinking skills (everything the other parent is in the process of destroying) so that he or she can resist brainwashing even when you're not there to help. Although the book doesn't promise miracles, it has definitely provided a strong glimmer of hope.Product details

This was very helpful for a client of mine going through this situation, and has helped her be a massively better parent to her wounded and confused children
I think it's a great book. Much of it has to do with just basic good parenting, but they're skills that bare repeating and certainly can't hurt in a situation where you're co-parenting with a toxic ex. I also like the honesty in that there will be some situations that are beyond your control, so it gives realistic tactics to try and stem the tide of alienation and loyalty conflicts. A great read for anyone caught in this situation.
This book is spot on with everything we are going through. Highly recommend it. I just wish there was more of a section on when to expect the kids to start realizing the truth about the toxic ex...if ever. A small chapter on child emotional development would have been great.
Very practical, realistic content and relatable advice to the problem of parental alienation. I finally felt like someone else understands because it is a lonely situation to be in.
If you are having issues coparenting with a difficult partner, this is a wonderful book. It allows you to take a look at the impact of your own behaviors as well
A must read for anyone dealing with a parent trying to influence your child into internal conflict! Not much to help you with the ex but definitely helps with dealing with your child and approaching them to get them to respond to you and create the relationship bond once again. Truly if you could get the Ex to read this...they could learn a great deal of the damage they are doing!
I really recommend this book. It's almost a handbook of what to do and how to rise above. It also helps identify your own behaviors that can make things worse for your kids. I really recommend for anyone in a high conflict coparenting situation
